From the Yankee point of view, does it really even matter who wins the minn/det game?

It matters, but only somewhat. I think we'll have a better chance to dominate the Twins because the Tigers have a better pitching staff and their rotation will be in better order on Wednesday. Good pitching beats good hitting and while I'm very confident in the Yankees against either one, I'll take the Yankee hitters against the Twins poor starters any day and let our better pitching deal with them as well as possible. It'll be a slugfest, but one we should win easily. Against Detroit, it'll be lower scoring, which is harder to win.
