What are the best/easiest supplemental jobs to get for struggling actors in LA?

I am moving to LA in August to pursue an acting career. I realize the need for a day job. Any suggestions? I have a physics degree and I am a certified teacher. I also have an extensive architecture background, CAD...etc. I would like to wait or tend but I ume they are tough to come by, good ones anyway. I look an craigslist all the time but It's tough to tell which are good and which are crap.
